    Electrician moving over

If I installed it there wouldn’t be any issues

    Electrician moving over

These guys I’ve been working with go to jobs and either just fit the panels etc and connect up or they also do the wiring too. Then onto the next job. This is the security side. Not fire

    Electrician moving over

I wouldn’t want anything to do with that. I’m interested in the installation and commissioning. Once that’s done onto the next job.

    Electrician moving over

With Fire It would literally be installing and leaving a fault free loop at the panel ready for commissioners. The other stuff I don’t know much about that side

    Electrician moving over

Not too bad. It would be a learning curve like anything

    Electrician moving over

Is it a drop in money because the guys I’ve worked with this week are on loads and just sub to about 4 different companies doing it. The only thing they said is be prepared to do more driving

    Electrician moving over

Hi everyone I’m just after some advice really. Not really sure what to expect. But I’ve been thinking about trying to get into doing more access control, cctv, intruder alarms and possibly fire ? I’ve done a fair bit of installation work but not much in the way of programming or commissioning so...

    Cards in jobs

I’ve been having a scan at the cards in jobs just to see what’s on offer and the rates seem low to me. What’s everyone else’s thoughts? I’m CIS myself. Last time I was cards in was nearly 5 years ago and I was on around £17 back then with a van but the rates don’t seem to have gone up much. I...

    Finding work

The AM2 is part of the NVQ. You have to do the Am2 and an evidence based portfolio. This is the issue a lot of older guys have. Because they haven’t done the portfolio or the Am2 (NVQ) they can’t get a gold card

Tick sheet and observations on large scale?

I’ve tried that but when I delete the extra item it’s added from the part 5 list it also removes it from the tick sheet

Tick sheet and observations on large scale?

Hi guys I have a question. I’m finishing up the write up for a very large eicr. I wrote all of my observations down in part 5 of the report before the tick sheet. It was easier to do this as I’m going around testing and doing visuals. Because there are so many observations noted down, I can’t...

    Allowed time for commercial eicr

Once I get my holiday out of the way mate that’s what I will be doing I reckon.

    Allowed time for commercial eicr

Do you have any suggestions as to how I fight my case with these idiots I work for? Like you say all they care about is the numbers of circuits. Not doing an accurate report

    What to do after college?

Get your driving license. Get on the books with a good firm who does big jobs. Get as much experience as you can. Then when your going out doing jobs by yourself further down the line you will know when your confidence and knowledge is in a good place. When that day comes go as a Subby. I...

    Allowed time for commercial eicr

I totally agree. An EICR is meant to ensure the electrical installation is safe to remain in operation. It’s not possible to determine this by racing around trying to do 30 circuits per day. Even if you do 12 hour days you would be pushing it. They do not take into account the observation side...
