Hi Nothing at the moment just bare wires from the ceiling speakers to my control room in the garage.
Had considered a cheap bluetooth amplifier in the control room but would mean having to go to the conrtol room to turn on and off and to stream from my mobile and leaving my mobile in teh control...
Hi Stuart, Im totally open to suggestions. My control room layout has the ceiling speaker feed cables and my router and ethernet switch amongst other tech.

Thank you for this but I need to provide an amplifier first for the ceiling speakers and then connect via wifi (bluetooth not enough distance) to my mobile to stream music and control the amplifier remotely.
For two plus years I have been pondering how to connect my fitted ceiling speakers to an amplifier that I connect to via wifi and then stream music from my mobile.
To start with I am not going to go for multi room speakers just the main kitchen ones. The speaker cables go to my control room in...
Yes, both makes of LEDs are dimmable. Don’t know the make of the dimmer.
According to various Google searches when using LEDs the maximum output should be 10% of the dimmer rating ie 400w = 40 watts etc. Hence my thinking 17x 4.9w of 83.3w is too high.
From new fitted with Osram 4.5w 2700k however, he suggested changing to Belns Melbs 4.9w 2700k which certainly don’t blow so often. Since day 1 we have had to keep the dimmer on full to stop the LEDs constantly flickering. Before one blews you get a flickering on the faulty one and then one or...
my sparky has installed a four gang dimmer set up as follows.
1. Covering 17 x 6w leds
2 covering 9 x 6w leds
3. Covering 3 x 9w leds
4. Covering a few under counter LEDs.
We are constantly blowing LEDs on dimmer 1 and I think it is totally overloaded. The only solution I can think of is to...
Very good point. Supply been very stable. Also been very pleased with installation and battery usage also using EDDI. In April system generally ran the house, charged battery, topped up immersion and threw away a few free Kilowatts to the grid.
Just seen that Solaredge have announced new training courses for their installers that include powering from PV and battery when grid is down. I have been wanting this ever since my solaredge system was installed. Anyone know any more about this?
One part of the question you answered that I don't understand is how the battery comes into play in the event of a grid outage. My supplier says this will not work which I don't understand.
I have recently had installed a circa 4kva pV array with Solaredge optimisers and inverter. On order since August I also have an EDDI and Solaredge battery on order but so far not delivered. No idea when this will happen.
Three questions please:
1. I had expected to see the output of each panel...
I have a solaredge battery on order and had heard they would be announcing soon capability to auto switch to EPS mode upto 3kw in the event of grid failure. Does anyone know about this please?
Thank you very clear. Fairly similar to what I wired up a long time ago for an oil boiler for the 1987 powercuts. I also wired in the heating pumps to the same circuit. You explanation has reminded me how I did this.
Locked to prevent being resurrected (again)
This is a very interesting post but would like more detail on this please. I have 14 x panels of PV and Solaredge inverter as a standard installation.
I also have a 3.5kVa generator and 1500 watt Growatt inverter spare. What is an easy way to make one or other able to power my boiler in the...
Moved in to a new build 12 months ago and inherited a small (4 x panel) PV system with a Growatt 1.5KvA grid inverter. Model MIC 1500TL-X
Still with 9 years warranty left. I have upgraded to a 14 x panel system and larger inverter. I had thought about using it for powering our gas boiler with...
